DR. CHRISTIAN GERSPACH

Christian Gerspach is a specialist in large animal internal medicine and currently the head of the Division Internal Medicine, of the Clinic for Ruminants at the Food Animal Department of the Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich, Switzerland. In 2000, he qualified as a veterinarian at the Free University of Berlin. Between 2000 and 2005, he worked at the Clinic for Ruminants in Zurich and obtained his Dr. med. vet. degree from the University of Zurich in 2003. In 2005, he entered a residency program (large animal internal medicine) at The Ohio State University, USA. During that time, he also completed his Master of Science program. After specialization in large animal internal medicine (food animal), he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). In 2008, he rejoined the team at the Clinic for Ruminants at the Food Animal Department of the Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich as a senior lecturer, performing clinical work, research and teaching. His research is focused on transition cow metabolism, fatty liver disease and clinical research.
