Reza Seddighi, DVM, MS, PhD, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. Dr. Seddighi is an Associate Professor of Anesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary medicine. He earned his DVM from Shiraz University, a Master of Sciences degree from the University of Illinois, and a DVSc from Shiraz University. Dr. Seddighi is an expert on anesthesia and pain management of animals. Dr. Seddighi is also certified in veterinary acupuncture (Certified Medical Acupuncture) and in advanced cardiac life support. His special interests are anesthesia and analgesia and his clinical focus includes anesthesia, pain management, and acupuncture. Dr. Seddighi conducts extensive research investigations of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anesthetics and analgesics. He is involved in teaching all aspects of anesthesia and pain management of large animals (horses, and cattle), and companion animals (dogs and cats). Dr. Seddighi enjoys providing seminars on anesthesia in animals with co-existing diseases, geriatric anesthesia and analgesia, management of anesthetic complications, and the pharmacokinetics and dynamics of analgesic drugs.
